Sunny, Smoky and Fire-y San Diego

Hullo everydoggie--

I haven't been doing anyting inneresting this week, but Mamma seyz that dere's lots goin' on outside in the county right now. We are in a safe part of the county, but there are many other doggies, animals, and peepols who have had to leave their homes becuz of the many scarry fires going on in their areas. These peepols--called evak-yoo-eez-- are numbering more than half a million right now. Many of them have lost their homes, and many don't know how their homes are right now. Other peepols are doing their best to help all the evak-yoo-eez.

Mamma and the hoo-dad have been watching the news a lot lately--they've both been home all day because their schools have cancelled classes for the week. It's nice having the hoo-mans home, but we can't go out and do anything fun, because the air out there is all smoky and sooty and unhealthy for our lungs. They're saying on the news that this is the worst firestorm in San Diego history. It's been difficult for them to try to control the fires becuz of the really bad winds right now.

hi Lili,

we were just reading Luckie's blog and saw your comment. we see that some our friends are your friends too. we are all rescues from DROH.
when the Mommys almost 15 year, Samatha died in Jan 2005, the Mommy decided she needed another doggie. WHAT SHE GOT WAS US!! over the next 6 months, first it was Mona, then Jacks and finally Toby. right after we came along so did Hurricane Katrina & Rita. the long and short of it, that's how we started fosterng. our current foster is Evander. we KNOW what it's like being thrown away like a piece of garbage. we didn't mean to rattle on like this but the Mommy is sick and reading blogs
helps time pass quickly when she can't sleep

come over & say HI. we love making new friens.

Mona, Jacks, Toby, Evander & the Mommy, Sarah

PS....Lorenza is Toby's girlfriend.

Lili,

We are glad you are okay. It has been a while since we took time to catch up on our blog reading so we didn't know you were close enough to have to deal with all of the smoke. Our mom used to live in Orange County and she said, even when the fires aren't as bad as this year's, there is soot and smoke everywhere. It all sounds very scary to us. You must be a very brave girl to stay and protect your humans.
